Summer Schedule for July 14, 2013: Events & Timetable

It’s week three of our super summer schedule, and we’re feeling pretty triumphant after completing everything but one activity from last week’s list. If I’d remembered to pick up glue on my Target run, we would have finished it all.

Here’s what we have planned for this week:

Make Something Monday: make bouncy balls. This is the one project we missed last week because I couldn’t find the glue and then forgot to grab some. I’m excited to finally try it with the kids.

Take a Trip Tuesday: Playdate at the park. We set up a playdate with a family just a couple streets away. The mom actually stopped mid-run the day our moving truck arrived to introduce herself—she was pushing two kids in a jogging stroller. Last week she left a sweet note in our mailbox with her email and phone number in case we wanted to meet up. I’m definitely loving our new neighborhood.

Wet + Wild Wednesday: water blob. I’ll admit this might happen next weekend when Andy is around and after I’ve made another trip to Lowe’s for plastic sheeting, but I’m sure it will be a huge hit with all three kids.

Thinking Thursday: Library. We got library cards last week and plan to visit another branch this week. We’re lucky to have plenty of branches nearby to explore.

Fresh + Fun Friday: DIY sidewalk paint. I’ve had this idea pinned for a couple of years and know the girls will love decorating the driveway.

Rainbow bubble snakes were a definite hit. They were quick to set up and kept the girls entertained for a good half hour. We tried plain bubbles first, then added food coloring for colorful bubbles—beautiful, but the dye can stain hands and clothes if you’re not careful. We’ll definitely make bubble snakes again soon.
