Green Eggs and Ham Pretzels – A playful take on Green Eggs and Ham, made from pretzels, white chocolate melts, and M&Ms. These little bites are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or Dr. Seuss’ birthday and are easy to make with preschoolers or for a classroom party.

GREEN EGGS AND HAM
1) A leprechaun trail of coins around the house (my son loves pennies).
2) A little mischief in the bathroom — green dye for a laugh (boys will be boys).
3) A themed snack: green eggs and ham. The classic version sometimes grosses my kids out, so this year I switched to a kid-friendly, school-safe treat: Green Eggs and Ham Pretzel bites.

These treats are quick to assemble, visually fun, and perfect for little hands. My kids loved helping make them while we read Dr. Seuss’ book together.
Why these are a great preschool snack
Green Eggs and Ham Pretzel bites are simple, tidy, and crowd-pleasing. They work well for classroom parties, bake sales, or an easy at-home activity. The components are inexpensive and straightforward: pretzels for the base and “bacon,” white candy melts for the “egg whites,” and green or yellow M&Ms for the yolks.
HOW TO MAKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM TREATS
1. Arrange pretzels in a single layer on a cookie sheet. You can use pretzel sticks or square pretzel snaps — the square snaps are easier to top and handle.

2. Place one white candy melt on top of each pretzel pair. Use Wilton white chocolate melts, Ghirardelli white melting discs, or similar candy melts. Put the cookie sheet in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 1–2 minutes, just until the candy melts soften and begin to flatten. Watch carefully to avoid browning.

3. Remove the tray from the oven and immediately press a green or yellow M&M into the center of each melted candy disc to resemble an egg yolk. Allow to cool completely so the candy sets.

If you’re planning a Dr. Seuss celebration or a St. Patrick’s Day classroom treat, these bites are an easy, festive option that kids will love to help make and to eat.
