Happy Thanksgiving! It’s been a joyful journey preparing recipes for you, your family, and friends for this special day. Thanksgiving is the biggest food holiday on Jessica in the Kitchen, and I love answering your questions and helping you plan a menu that fits dietary needs, allergies, and personal tastes.

I wanted to share a short note of gratitude. This year has been full of meaningful moments, and I’m thankful for the people and experiences that shaped it.

Grateful for: loved ones who want the very best for me. This year I’ve been surrounded by family and friends who support my life, business, and marriage. Their encouragement has made a huge difference—lifting me up mentally and spiritually, offering constructive feedback, guiding me through challenges, and keeping me laughing. Thank you to everyone who helped me this year. A special shoutout to my dream team: my girls’ night friends Tiki, Quida, and Kel—your light and laughter mean so much. To Ashli, my maid of honor and best friend, thank you for supporting my business. To my parents, thank you for endless guidance, unconditional love, and always putting my health first. To my husband, you mean everything to me. To my brother Konrad, for the book and personality test recommendations and for guiding me. To my brother Ben, thank you for being an honest taste tester and for always asking for more pumpkin bread—you bring so much joy.

Grateful for: my husband. Beyond being a loved one, I’m deeply thankful for his steadiness and support. He’s helped with everything from dishes to reminding me to eat, and he’s been there through late nights and every step of this journey. We share a similar sense of humor, spiritual outlook, and a love of sci-fi, and I appreciate his constant encouragement.

Grateful for: spiritual guidance. This year brought significant mental and spiritual growth. Letting go and allowing guidance into my life was challenging at first, but surrendering—again and again—made a profound difference. I’m not a guru, but I’m learning every day. Prayer has become deeper and more intentional, meditation is now part of my daily routine, and self-care has become a priority. I’ve learned that putting myself first at times allows me to better serve others: when I’m rested and nourished, I can give more to those around me.

Grateful for: my career. Leaving law to pursue this full time was a huge leap. Believing in myself helped launch this path, and I’m excited for what lies ahead. Each day I ask how a recipe, a post, or an Instagram update can solve a problem or bring value. I love this work—the creative challenge keeps me going, even when it’s demanding.

Grateful for: you, my readers. This part makes me emotional—your support means everything. Every comment matters, and when you tag me in your recreations or send photos by email, it touches me deeply. Knowing my recipes help bring families together is incredibly rewarding. Your engagement drives me, and this year your responses made my work feel more meaningful than ever.

P.S. To show my appreciation, I’m running a small Black Friday sale!
